Little Girl’s Clothes Available for Fire Victims–I have used girl’s clothes from newborn through size 5 (winter) and newborn through size 4 (summer) for free. Mostly Gymboree brand.
I spent half a day sorting through all the clothes we can’t or don’t wear and marking in the sizes to make them easy to see, then drove from Waco to Elgin intending to deliver them to Bastrop Church of Christ, which had posted that they were taking donations. But when I called them for directions to their location, I was told they were not taking any more clothes because they already had a semi-trailer full of clothes. Most of the clothing I took was like brand new, it just didn’t fit anyone anymore. I am guessing that a lot of the clothes on that semi-trailer were also nearly new, so why are people asking for gift cards to go buy new clothes? Most of the donations locations tell me they have plenty of clothing.
Send people there and let’s save the cash for things that can’t be re-used, like pain killers for all the injured animals, and supplies for the firefighters.
